Great piece. The last bit describing the optimism of 1930 is somewhat haunting. I am literally rocking my baby to sleep right now, and I feel like one day I will have a hell of a story to tell about the markets of 2019-present! I am navigating the bubbly waters of Canada, and the optimism we generally have for ourselves is very nice, but more than likely a form of deep self-deception right now considering we have the most inverted yield curve of the G7.
Come what may, nothing compares to the joy of a curious, giggly baby! Take care.
Thank you for the kind and thoughtful comment. My 'babies' are now teenagers but still remember those days fondly! My goal is not to be alarmist but to offer an honest assessment using the analytical framework built over 25 years so that people can plan accordingly.
Another excellent piece - Thanks!
Thank you for taking the time to read and leave a comment. Have a great weekend!
Your writing is masterful. Thank you for sharing such rich analysis. Extra interesting and messy times ahead.
Thank you Natasha - too kind
